Camping on the Trail 1

National Parks, Provincial Parks, Conservation Authorities and communities operate a number of excellent campsites located on the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. There are also a number of private campgrounds of which we have included a small selection.

Listed in geographical order from Grand Bend (Lake Huron) to Quebec (St. Lawrence River). Kilometre mark is the approximate distance from the Ontario/Quebec Border.


Lake Huron

Oakville (Kilometre mark 619)
Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Note this park is about 5 km north of the Waterfront Trail and access to the park by bicycles is not very safe. Heavy truck traffic and no shoulders make this a difficult ride. See note on Map 2-4

Toronto--east end (Kilometre mark 532)
Glen Rouge Campground --managed by Toronto Region Conservation and north of the Trail. Waterfront Trail maps do not extend to location of the campground. Closest is Map2-16.

Oshawa/Clarington boundary
Darlington Provincial Park. Located on Map 3-6 (Kilometre mark 480)

Cobourg
Victoria Park Campground--managed by the Town. Located on Map 4-2(Kilometre mark 414)

Alnwick/Haldimand
Jubalee Beach Park--privately managed. RV camping only. Located on Map 4-5.

Brighton

Ivy Lea just east of Gananoque by the Thousand Islands Bridge (Kilometre mark 190)
