Route & Itinerary Day 2


MONDAY, AUGUST 7th  Point Pelee to Rondeau Provincial Park - 106km

Start: Point Pelee National Park

Breakfast:  North West Pavillion, Point Pelee National Park
Luggage Truck Departure: 8:30 am. Please load your luggage before you depart for breakfast - all luggage should be loaded by 8:00am

Hotel Guests: Please leave your luggage in the Reception Area of the Best Western, Leamington - our staff will collect it and transport it to tonight's hotel.

Wheatley - 24km - coffee, supermarket and washroom

Wheatley is a small town with a coffee shop, supermarket and a number of restaurants including a Subway. Our first suggested "on your own" lunch stop is at 65km. If you feel that you need to purchase a snack or snadwich to tide you over before then, Wheatley is the place to do it. The first half of today's ride is extremely rural with very limited facilities - including washrooms. A washroom can be found at the Wheatley Arena on the North side of the arena. GWTA Rest Stop  and Portapotty 44km - Intersection of Port Road and Simpson Line

The GWTA shuttle will be on hand to refill your water bottles and provide a few snacks to tide you over until lunch! Look out for GWTA staff member Dave Meyer !

Pardoville  Fruit Stand and bakery - 65km

Deer Run Golf Course - 65km - 1st shuttle point 12:30pm, 1:45pm

Address: 19605 Bloomfield Rd, Blenheim, Ontario, N0P 1A0

Deer Run Golf Course Restaurant is our suggested " on your own" lunch stop . The restaurant is open to the public, very large and beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. The GWTA shiuttle will be leaving from the South West corner of the parking lot at 12:30 and 1:45pm

Delhaven's Fruit Market - 69km

Erieau - 81km - 2nd shuttle point 1:00pm, 2:30pm

The beautiful little town of Erieau is a charming place to stop for lunch. There are 3 restaurants and a visit to Bayside Brewing is a must if you are a craft beer lover! Support vehicles will be on hand to transport your purchases to this evening's campground.

Erieau has a beautiful beach with public washrooms. Support vehicles will be parked in the beach parking lot.

Shuttles will be leaving at 1:00pm and 2:30pm

Some participants will be staying overnight in Erieau at the Bayview Bliss cabins - your ride ends here for today. Don't worry the mileage that you miss today will be added on tomorrow!

As you leave Erieau , take care not to miss the turning for the trail which is by the Penny Farthing sculpture. Although this section of the trail is gravel it is worth the ride as it is so beautiful - especially the little bridge over the waterway.

Rondeau Joe's Bar and Grill - 106km

A perfect place to stop in for a celebratory drink before riding into camp!

Hotel guests who are staying at the Silver Motel in Blenheim will be shuttled to their motel and shuttled back to the park for dinner. The owner of Bye The Bay B&B (close to Rondeau P.P)  is allowing Silver Motel guests to store their bikes on her property please park your bike here before 4pm - the GWTA shuttle will be by at 4pm to pick up Silver Motel Guests and transport them to Silver Motel.

Bye the Bay guests will ride past the B&B on the way to the Park  - it's your choice whether you ride to the park before checking in to Bye The Bay or check in first before joining us for dinner in the park.



Tonight's dinner is included in your registration. Our meal will be provided by the Friends of Rondeau Provincial Park. We will be eating at the pavillion in the park.

Silver Motel Guests will be shuttled to the park for dinner. The bus will leave the Silver Motel at 6pm.

Bye the Bay Guests may choose to ride or walk to the park.

Bayview Bliss Guests are staying in Erieau with a choice of three restaurants including Bayside Brewing. Please make your own arrangements for dinner this evening.

 Rondeau Park Nocturnal Programming

Join the Provincial Park staff at 8:00pm for a guided hike around Rondeau which will focus on some of the nocturnal species found  in the park. Meet at the campgrounfd Info Tent at 8:00pm
The Visitor Centre open until 9:00pm you would rather just look at the nature displays.
