Route

Quinte West is the hub of a number of natural and manmade waterways. In 1993, Quinte West began the process of regeneration by reclaiming its riverfront. It ripped up parking spaces that backed onto the shoreline and created a lovely landscaped and lit Trail. There is a gap in the Trail between Quinte West and Belleville. However the Trail continues south through Prince Edward County along HWY 33.

  • Paved shoulders along the Loyalist Parkway.
  • Trail stops at Centennial Park since trail connections into Belleville do not exist. The only route is old HWY 2-unsuitable due to high traffic speed and volume and the absence of shoulders.
  • Trail resumes 12 km east in Belleville.
  • A second route for the Trail goes south from Quinte West along HWY 33 through Prince Edward County.

Main Access Points (with parking)

  • Hanna Park
  • Bayshore Park

Trail Connections
  • Trenton Brighton Loop Trail
  • Millennium Trail runs along an old railway line and is best suited to hikers, ATV's and snowmobiles. The surface is loose gravel making it a very rough ride for cyclists. There are long-range plans to pave and separate motorized-vehicular use from pedestrians and cyclists. Once accomplished, this Trail will be designated as the off-road Waterfront Trail.
