River Tour - Brockville to Montreal
Check out our itinerary for the fourth annual cycling tour of the Waterfront
Trail and its amazing trail connections. This year the staff from the
Waterfront Trust along with Kate Harries for the Toronto Star and Anna
Biro, one of our end-to-enders, enjoyed a wonderful cycling tour along
the scenic St. Lawrence River from Brockville to Montreal. The trip was
a pilot run of the potential extension of the Waterfront Trail east of
Brockville. The 230km route over four days took us through gorgeous views
of the river and canals. Local leaders and community members from the
municipalities and towns welcomed us along the way and indicated their
strong support for the extension. The Waterfront Trail extension to the
Quebec border is 146kms, 50% of which is either off-road path or paved
shoulders and includes the St. Lawrence Recreational Path (90kms).

Circumnavigate Lake Ontario via the
Seaway Trail!
Gone 'end-to-end' on the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail? Circumnavigate
the Lake by travelling the Seaway Trail, like members of the Waterfront
Trust. They cycled from Lewiston, NY to Cape Vincent, NY, finishing with
a ferry trip to Wolfe Island, Canada. The 400 km, Lake Ontario section
of the Seaway Trail is not as populated as the Canadian side. Its easy-to-follow
signs and paved, marked shoulders make it perfect for recreational cyclists
with the conditioning to handle rolling terrain and steep hills.
Travel the Greater Niagara Circle Route!
Check out our itinerary for the third annual cycling
tour of the Waterfront Trail and its amazing trail connections. This year
the Waterfront Trust along with Toronto Star reporter Kate Harries and
some of our end to enders enjoyed a wonderful ride along the beautiful
Greater Niagara Circle Route. Our journey passed through wineries, Niagara
Falls and two great lakes while we toured the seven communities that are
connected by the Greater Niagara Circle Route. The Route comprises four
trail systems, the Waterfront Trail from St. Catharines to Niagara-on-the-Lake,
the Niagara River Recreation Trail, the Friendship Trail in Fort Erie
and the Welland Canal Recreation Trail.
- Read the Toronto Star article, "Following
new paths". We would like to express our thanks to Kate Harries
and the Toronto Star.
