Drinking Water Source Protection Act

The Waterfront Regeneration Trust is responding to the proposed Drinking Water Source Protection Act that has been posted on the EBR.

We have reviewed the proposed Act and also participated in the development of the response to the Act that has been prepared by the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA).
The Waterfront Regeneration Trust endorses the comments to the Act as outlined in the CELA response.

We believe that the recommendations contained in the CELA response are essential to the protection of water quality and quantity in Ontario, which is the foundation for safe drinking water and healthy watersheds and waterfronts.

We look forward to the leadership of the Ontario government in incorporating the recommendations and moving ahead with this important legislation.
