For 2009, we have created a new family friendly “One Night Adventure” option as a way to make the Adventure even more accessible to families who want to experience what the waterfront communities have to offer.
Recommendations for families:
Families are an important part of the Adventure. The GWTA is memorable way for a family to share a physical accomplishment, see our beautiful Great Lake waterfront and have a great time.
If you don’t think your family is ready for a full 8-day Adventure. We have two suggestions to consider and a few recommendations to help make your experience enjoyable.http://www.waterfronttrail.org/gwta_web/pdf/Families.pdf
GWTA FORUM
Waterfront Trail users and Great Waterfront Trail Adventurers can now communicate with one another. A group has been created at mapmyride.com to share “Trail” experiences, highlights, and upcoming trips. It is also a great resource to share training information for the upcoming Great Waterfront Trail Adventure and to connect with other participants to share transportation to the start and from the end of the tour. Check it out at: http://www.mapmyride.com/community/groups/552034124862
Please note, you will need to register with MapMyRide to post a message on the forum. You can register at http://www.mapmyride.com/register?chkRedirect=&txtReturnUrl=

Jerseys
For the 2nd Annual GWTA, we have created commemorative jerseys that will be available online in 2009. You will have the options of both long and short sleeve to ride in the spring and on tour in July! Check back to the “What’s New” section to see the latest design and place your order!
