The event details surrounding each day of the second annual Great Waterfront
Trail Adventure (July 4-11, 2009) are being finalized. Some events and
overnights may change - check back soon for updates!! In the meantime,
a look through last year's itineraries (below) will give you an idea of
the wide range of fun and inspiring experiences you can expect as you
visit the vibrant and diverse communities along the Waterfront Trail.

Community spirit will once again come alive as riders eat a breakfast
of bagels and fruit provided by the township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal
at the campground before starting to ride at 9:30.

The town of Iroquois will be the first rest stop with washrooms,
water, and snacks at the community centre.

Canada Village
Escape to another time and place while enjoying lunch amidst the
sights and sounds of the 1860s at Upper Canada Village. Adventurers
will have two restaurant choices for lunch ranging from $8-$13.

stop - Lost
Villages Museum
The Lost Villages Museum tells the story of the ten villages that
were permanently submerged when the area was flooded to create the
St Lawrence Seaway in 1958, and is the last rest stop of the day
with washrooms, water, and snacks.

Overnight - Cornwall St.
Lawrence College
The last night of the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure will be in
the gym at St. Lawrence College. If you would prefer a more private
room you can contact the college at 613-933-6080 ext 2558 at book
a dorm room for $29/person, or check out the alternate accommodations

Dinner -
Cornwall
After settling in, participants will walk over to the Salon in the
Civic Complex for cocktails and dinner before heading out to enjoy
the Lift Off Festival. Entry to the Lift Off Festival is free with
your wrist band and dinner will be $13 for lasagna, salad, buns,
and cake.

Cornwall
Canal
This canal is all that remains of the original historic Cornwall
Canal, which was flooded in 1958 to make way for the St. Lawrence
Seaway. A 4.4 km dedicated multi-use path now follows the south
side of the old canal, allowing travelers to walk or ride right
along the water’s edge.

Cornwall
LIft Off, the annual hot air balloon festival will rise again during
the weekend of July 10-13, 2008, with all events taking place Cornwall's
Lamoureux Park located on the St. Lawrence River! This year, the
arrival of 20 - 25 majestic hot air balloons is anticipated. In
addition to the extensive balloon roster, there is an impressive
list of musical groups that will perform on stage.
