Trenton to Kingston - 132 km

After breakfast, riders will leave the hub of a number of natural and manmade waterways, head toward Belleville on route to Prince Edward County in the South. The bending and curving shoreline will lead cyclists past vast marshes and wetlands in Prince Edward County, through the lovely rural landscapes, and quaint, historic villages of Loyalist and in to the city of Kingston. Kingston offers museums, historic military landmarks, and a vibrant downtown filled with great pubs and restaurants.

Breakfast - Trenton
After waking up to the sounds of the water, cyclists and their support teams may be tempted to relax on the beach, swim, go windsurfing, diving, or fishing, but we recommend you begin the day by 8:00 am as this is the second longest day in the tour. We may have special support for this day as well...stay tuned!

Rest Stop  - Belleville
Another addition to the GWTA this year is the city of Belleville, the largest city in the region with beautiful architecture downtown, and access to wineries, hiking and biking and the arts.

Rest Stop - Bloomfield
A great location along the route that is a favourite of all cyclists who pass through. The local bike shop, Bloomfield Bicycle Co., will draw you in with its character and its friendly staff, as will all of the arts and craft shops and the local ice cream place....

Ferry to Glenora
Riders and support vehicles will have to cross the Bay of Quinte on a ferry.  Leaving every hour and half hour, the ferry runs from 6 am to 1:15 am and is free of charge.

77 Rest Stop - Bergeron Estate Wineries
Bergeron Estate Winery will be hosting this rest stop and offering free tours of their picturesque vinyard (Pinot & Gamay Noir, Riesling, Vidal & Gewürztraminer) located on the North shore of Adolphus Beach which is part of the Bay of Quinte and the mouth to Lake Ontario. Wine will be for sale by the case, bottle and and also by the glass for those looking for a relaxing rest stop over looking the vineyard and water.

Pick Up Zone - Centennial Park
Since today is a long day of cycling, we are offering a pick-up zone for riders who choose to finish before reaching Kingston.  There will be one shuttle that will transport cyclists at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, so be prepared to explore Fairfield house and gardens while you wait.

Dinner - Kingston Lake Ontario Park
Welcome to Lake Ontario Park where bands will be playing to keep you entertained and to help burn off extra energy with dancing. There's plenty to do in Kingston, with an incredible downtown for those who like to explore and find a bit of the old world charm, and some finer establishments.

Lemoine Point in Kingston
Lemoine Point Conservation Area has beautiful off road cycling trails.  There are more than 4.5 km of trail with water views, places to stop for a swim, washrooms, parking, wetlands, and parks.  For specific locations view map 6-1

Wellington Community Museum  
Wellington Heritage Museum was built in 1885 as a Quaker Meeting House and now features exhibits on local history.

Sandbanks Provincial Park   
Sandbanks Provincial Park is not on the Trail proper (just a 10 minute drive from Bloomfield along County Rd 12), but is definitely worth the trip.  Giant sand dunes and golden beaches form two of the largest freshwater baymouth sandbars in the world.

Lake on the Mountain   
Located 1 km up a big hill from the Waterfront Trail, the Lake on the Mountain is cloaked in mystery and legend. The turquoise lake is a source of amazement and a beautiful setting for activities in the park.

72 Bergeron Estate Wineries
Bergeron Estate Winery is located directly on the south side of the Loyalist Parkway 5 KM East of the Historical location of Adulphustown UEL park. The winery will be hosting a rest stop and offering free tours of their picturesque vinyard (Pinot & Gamay Noir, Riesling, Vidal & Gewürztraminer) situated on the North shore of Adolphus Reach which is part of the Bay of Quinte and the mouth to Lake Ontario.

Fairfield-Guzeit House  
The Fairfield-Gutzeit House was built in 1796 by two brothers, William Jr. and Benjamin, both of whom were prominent in the community.  Considerable alterations were made over the course of time and the house is now open to the public during the summer months.
