HISTORY

Take a walk through time in historic
Cobourg. A 150 year old haunted house that is now a Bed and
Breakfast and a mill that was the site of the first two Canadian
waterwheel patents and is now a restaurant are two of dozens
of historic buildings you will find in Cobourg. Much of Cobourg’s
King Street architecture is reminiscent of the old City of London
made famous by Charles Dickens.
Location: King Street in Cobourg
Admission: none
Parking: King Street and Church Street

The Cobourg Jail has been through several changes over it’s
92 year history. In 1998 it ceased to exist as a prison and
became a restaurant, an Inn, a museum, spa, and a Banquet and
Conference Centre. Whether you choose to explore the halls,
visit the children’s play area, or spend the night, the
Cobourg Jail offers an experience like no other!
